Tasikmalaya (dmtNews) – The official results of the Permanent Voter List (DPT) for the 2024 Local Elections (Pilkada) indicate that a majority of voters in Tasikmalaya City are comprised of Millennials and Gen Z individuals.
Asep Rismawan, Chairman of the KPU of Tasikmalaya Regency, stated that these two demographics dominate the voter population in the city. “Yes, 58 percent. Millennials make up 33 percent and Gen Z accounts for 25 percent. The majority fall within the age range of 17 to 40 years,” he remarked on Monday, September 30, 2024.
In response, the KPU is intensifying its outreach efforts to engage these demographics. “Our target participation rate for the upcoming Pilkada is 90 percent. With our ongoing socialization efforts, we are optimistic that we can achieve this goal,” he added.
To reach this target, the KPU is implementing both closed and open socialization initiatives. “We are conducting outreach directly in public spaces, such as busy areas and community gathering spots,” he explained.
