Jakarta, dmtNews – A large house situated on an expansive lawn in Sydney, Australia, has garnered attention due to its unique placement among identical twin-design homes built by developers.
According to Daily Mail, the 20,000 square meter property is owned by the Zammit family. On this vast land, only the large house, a three-car garage, a barn, and a 200-meter-long driveway are visible.
Located in The Ponds, northwest of Sydney, this residence sits on highly sought-after land by developers. The owners could potentially earn billions if they chose to sell the property.
Despite receiving attractive offers, including one rumored to reach AU$ 40 million (approximately Rp 418.5 billion), the Zammit family has declined to sell. Real estate agents continuously request the family to consider offers, with experts estimating the land could be worth AU$ 60 million, or around Rp 627.8 billion.
The reason behind the Zammit family’s refusal to sell remains unclear. However, neighbors living next to their property do not mind the family’s decision.
“It doesn’t bother us too much,” a male neighbor stated, as quoted by Daily Mail on Monday, September 30, 2024. “That’s their land; they can do whatever they want with it,” he added.
A woman living across from the Zammit house echoed similar sentiments, saying, “If I had that land, I would do the same.” She fully supported their decision.
The Zammit family is described by locals as quiet and rarely seen enjoying their expansive property, apart from tidying up the yard. Residents note that the lawn is typically maintained by the family’s son, taking about two and a half hours to mow.

The property is surrounded by a fence approximately 750 meters long. Despite its size, the estate lacks luxury features such as a swimming pool or tennis court, and there are no trees or shrubs visible across the grassy expanse.
