Tasikmalaya (dmtNews) – The General Election Commission (KPU) of Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, has received essential logistics, including voting booths, ballot boxes, and other materials, in preparation for the simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) scheduled for November 27, 2024.
“Several items have already arrived at the KPU warehouse, including three key items,” said KPU Chairman of Tasikmalaya, Ami Imron Tamami, in a phone interview from Tasikmalaya on Monday.
He explained that the KPU has successfully passed various preparatory stages for the 2024 Pilkada, including the establishment of three candidate pairs for the position of Regent and Vice Regent of Tasikmalaya.
Currently, the commission is in the campaign phase, while also preparing other aspects of the election. The received logistics, which are stored securely in the warehouse, include 5,772 ballot boxes, 11,388 voting booths, and 34,164 cable ties, with additional supplies still pending due to ongoing production.
“The remaining items are still in the production process,” he added.
Furthermore, KPU Tasikmalaya is currently designing the ballots and discussing the designs with the National KPU before proceeding to print them. Once the design is finalized, coordination with the three candidate pairs will take place. Once all parties agree on the design, the printing of the Pilkada ballots for Tasikmalaya will commence in early October 2024.
“These ballots will be brought to Tasikmalaya for coordination with the candidates. Once everyone agrees on the design, we will begin printing in early October,” he stated.
The Tasikmalaya Pilkada will feature three candidate pairs: Number 1, Iwan Saputra-Dede Muksit Aly; Number 2, Cecep Nurul Yakin (the incumbent Vice Regent) – Asep Sopari Alayubi; and Number 3, Ade Sugianto (the incumbent Regent) – Iip Miftahul Faoz.
